A2 English Literature
A2 Literature consists of two modules. LT3 is coursework based and involves the study of one novel (The Return of the Soldier by Rebecca West), one collection of poetry (The Complete Poems by Keith Douglas) and one other partner text of your choice. You will produce a 3,000 word essay on these three texts. LT4 is assessed via examination and requires the study of two plays - Shakespeare's King Lear and Sophocles' Oepipus Rex - along with a substantial narrative poem - Chaucer's The Wife of Bath's Tale - and preparation for tackling unseen poetry texts.
