What is the National Student Survey?

The National Student Survey is an independent survey conducted by Ipsos Mori, which is aimed at undergraduate students in their final year.  It gathers opinions on a variety of topics, including the standard of teaching on courses, support, organisation, resources and student voice.  Over 300,000 students across the UK completed the survey last year, the results of which help HE institutions improve the quality of their courses and also help prospective students make informed decisions of where and what to study.

Things to Remember

The NSS is about your experience through the whole duration of your course, not just the final year.  The survey is anonymous, so you are able to be open and truthful in your responses. Only you (and other students) know what it is like to study your course in your institution. You can access the NSS online via a PC, smartphone or tablet and it should only take 10 minutes to complete. The survey is open until 30th April and the results will be published in August to inform those applying to study HE.
